Esola Vineyard (formally know as Sherman's Gold) is located in Amador County and was the source for Ridge's Shenendoah Zinfandel in the 70's and 80's
the German equivalent of Burgundy’s Grand Cru
flatter and with heavier clay soils in the town of Cerbaia
They grow on 70 cm of fine orange sand over tufa (a porous limestone) and are a mix of alberello and guyot training
It is bottled the July after harvest and is aged on cork before being disgorged
2023 Justin Dutraive Regnie 'Les Bulliats', Beaujolais, France Desire Petit Esola Vineyard (formally know asInaugural cuvee from vines in Regnie where Justin Dutraive now hangs his hat. Juicy and bright Gamay with lovely depth.
