2015 Chateau des Moines, Lalande-de-Pomerol, France Buffalo Trace Chehalem MountainsSplit by the Gironde River, Bordeaux is defined by its cabernet driven Left Bank and its merlot heavy Right Bank. This wine is from the Right Banks esteemed region of Pomerol and made from both merlot and cabernet, the former adding supple dark fruit with the cabernet lending structure and spice. With old world scents of cedar, lead pencil and dark fruit this is a textbook example of what makes classic Bordeaux so beloved.
