Trillium freatum Spencer Xanthocyparis but in 2006Trillium x freatum 'Spencer' is a 2020 Plant Delights JLB introduction of what we feel are naturally occurring hybrids between Trillium cuneatum and Trillium freemanii that we first discovered in Van Buren County, TN in 2000. Here, it grew at 2,000' elevation on a north facing slope with Hydrangea arborescens. It's certainly possible that this actually represents a new, undiscovered species, but due to the variable petal width (between T. freemanii
