Carex gentilis ssp nakaharae Yushan Light Shade to Shade Starting in late March andWe discovered this fantastic sedge on Taiwan's highest mountain, Yushan (Nantou County), at 7,400' elevation. In our garden, Carex gentilis ssp. nakaharae 'Yushan' has made a stunning 18" tall x 3' wide, finely textured, evergreen specimen. I find Carex gentilis ssp. nakaharae a marvelous textural addition to the woodland garden.
