Sarcococca ruscifolia Emeishan Notholirion Beginning in midsummer and continuingThis amazing form of Sarcococca ruscifolia is a Mark Weathington JC Raulston Arboretum introduction from China's famed Mt. Emei. For us, this non suckering species has grown to 5' x 8' in only four years. The black green foliage adorns the tall, but sturdy arching stems. The small axillary clusters of buds open for us in December to reveal clusters of small, sweetly fragrant white flowers. The bright red fruit, also turns color in late December (NC)
