Clivo Altura sits at 700 meters in one of the wildest, most forested corners of Chianti Classico, on schist limestone soils that look more like the Alps than the Tuscan hills. Everything is organically farmed and hand harvested, with fermentation in neutral oak. This is high altitude Sangiovese in its purest, most aromatic form: crunchy red fruit, wild herbs,
