Description
earthy aromas with an array of herbal and leafy notes
This Cuvee is vinified partly in oak barrels (topped up - so not oxidised) and partly in vats
and although it's not ethereal like the Ausone or even the Lafite
spice box and dried orange peel
As the wine opens
Pavillon Rouge du Chateau Margaux, Margaux, France 2012 Weingut Alfred Merkelbach earthy aromas with an arrayShows a tight nose, but manages to convey pure, fresh notes of red fruit and violet. Almost sleek, with fine grained tannins carrying the red currant paste and iron accents. The plum skin tinged finish sings, displaying remarkable integration already. A very impressive showing today.
