Description
The wine is aged for about fifteen months in large foudre and is then racked into the smaller format (600 liter) demi-muid for another year of elevage
but for our single vineyard offering we select a small amount of the wine that we feel best describes the terroir
most of the Premier Crus (all but Vaugiraut) at Duplessis spend about 6 months in older barriques for elevage
PRODUCTION NOTES: Fermented and aged in qvevri and steel
with an acidity that evokes the siliceous nature of the terroir
2025 Marco De Bartoli Lucido Catarratto, Sicily, Italy Domaine de la Tournelle The wine is aged for100% Catarratto. De Bartoli's Catarratto vines are not on the home estate in Samperi contrada in Marsala but slightly north in the province of Trapani. These 2 hectares of 20 year old vines are planted on sandy loam soils on flat land, organically farmed and hand harvested. The whole clusters are cooled down and pressed gently; the must is naturally settled for 48 hours before a spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and a tiny bit of sulfur in
