The Lottery Size:S: 36 x 28cm The hospital was designed by'Les divertissements de la lotterie', 1751; six views concerned with the lottery. Framed in ornamental borders, embodying head of Fate, and cornucopeas overflowing with fruit and with smoke. Central upper scene shows drawing the numbers in Coopers' Hall while the lower shows Change Alley. Upper left, 'Good luck 1,000 prize' scene underneath is 'Oh! let Fortune be kind'. Upper right, 'Bad luck What! all blanks', and lower right is 'Dear Doctor, consult
