This piece was created at  Lapid Pottery Works in Tel Aviv

I am not sure how this owl appeared in its original state (I believe it dates from the 1960s or so) but its surface now is a wonderful mix of green

and the structure of the super tight fitting lid

There may also be a bit of warping to the box itself such that the top and bottom aren't exactly flush

and 3/4" in height

It once held 18 tobacco plugs brick like masses of tobacco, from which pieces were bitten off or cut, then chewed but now is just a great box for holding tools, spices, art supplies, or whatever.
