It's been a bit since I find a  nice penmanship practice notebook-- I think in part because I've gotten pickier about the ones that I like

and some scattered staining to the red tape

reminding me somehow of old New York subway tiles

I love these as objects

It was done by an Isabella Caroline Thompson, 1829, whose family I've found, with the help of knowing that her son's name was George Thomas Reid (b. 1849, Pickens County, SC) and her granddaughter Victoria Reid
