I have to think this was made by a metalworker as a whimsy of sorts--perhaps as a present for a cobbler

Typically these sorts of figures--called limberjacks

I haven't done enough research to know exactly which Native American chief is portrayed in this wonderfully expressive small ink and watercolor drawing/painting

This is an old Mexican folk pottery bowl, likely from Oaxaca, though if it weren't stamped MEX on the underside I might almost think it was Persian. Nothing better than that yellow and green, just radiant. 6 1 2" d x 2 1 4" t and good condition. Crazing to the creamy white as evident and some irregularity to the form, all to the good I think. No notable chips, cracks or other issues.
