Unusual, Painterly c. 1870s Sixth Plate Tintype of Boy in Chair in Profile color rule but I might be inclinedI'm always drawn to painterly sort of photographs ones that feel all about tone and composition and atmosphere, and this is very much one of those, so moody dreamy. And an unusual one, with this young man seated facing sideways in his chair, rumpled drop cloth underneath feels as if capturing an in between moment, waiting and thinking, before an actual frontal portrait were to be taken.
