On the reverse it is signed by a David Schultz in blue ink and dated 1860--(along with numbers running 1-9 first forwards then backwards)--suggesting perhaps that its maker was in fact David and perhaps that it was made to mark the birth or life of Abraham

then neatly attached to a slab base

with interlocking wooden pieces that fit together to form a rectangle

Just Some Satisfying Very Old Blocks carved ladies shoe which I have learned isOld and weathered and beautiful for just those reasons. Once there was litho on a few of these, leaving some nice color and interesting surfaces behind. Good for arranging and using as little pedestals for other things. These just make me happy and I like to look at them. Pinkish: 2 1 4" l. Green: 1 5 8" x 1 5 8". Most or all of them 19th c. I believe.
