Feels to me one part Dutch still life, one part French Surrealist, and one part magic trick waiting to happen. And just a stunning photograph formally, times two, made even better by the orange perimeter of the card. 7" x 3 7 8". Charles E. Smith, Bristol, VT. c. 1880s I believe. Scattered stains
