Perhaps his arms were replaced at some point as they are of a slightly lighter wood--but they have good age to them if so (with a few fingers lost)
I found another of a very similar animal form in a very similar manner described as a fox (image included in photos)--that one 19th century and described as carved by a shaman for a hunter to carry as as a sort of amulet or charm
Set of C. 1930s Quilt Block Patterns in Original Envelopes Brazilian Fiori Forno coffee pot with the flip side untouchedFound at a flea market in Adamstown, PA, which seemed just the right place to find them, this is a set of 7 printed quilt square patterns in their original envelopes, plus an eighth envelope that is empty, c. 1930s I believe. In most are thin pieces of cut paper templates for each piece of the pattern. I think they're great looking things, with the color printed in all cases but one, where it was watercolored by hand. Each envelope measures 6 1 2" x 3
