Hill (NYC) are alphabet blocks from the 2nd half of the 19th century

I believe it was produced for Bitossi Rosenthal Netter and likely dates to the 1960s/early 70s

Signed (incised) KK on their undersides

and newer reinforcements screwed to either side to sturdy it up

Visually, I find it a perfect thing, inky red cross outlined in dark blue at one side and target shaped black ink cancellation over the stamp at right, which looks very much like the image of snake to me, tongue extending.
