It's a budget version of the typical 50mm f1. 8, packed in with some T series cameras. Optically, it's pretty much the same as the f1. 8, except for a little stop down baffle built in around the mid group, likely so Canon could use some leftover 1. 8 elements with slightly goofy edge performance. Anyway, if you want a standard 50mm FD lens that's a bit less standard
