Lovely 19th Century Bargello Needlework Sewing Pouch with Needlebook and Pin Cushion american drawing 5 1/16" x 4 3/8"I believe this sewing pouch is Victorian, but certainly nods to earlier flame stitched versions. (I believe the zig zag needlework pattern would properly be referred to as "bargello," defined by flat stitches made with multiple laid in a mathematical, typically zig zag pattern; the name originated from a series of chairs found in the Bargello palace in Florence with a "flame stitch" pattern.) The interior is lined with green silk and features a
