Constitution made the manufacturing and retail of alcohol illegal for nearly 13 yearsbut not the consumption of alcohol, which was a bit of a loophole. With the 21st Amendment going into effect on December 5th, 1933, Prohibition was officially repealed, states were allowed to set their own alcohol control laws, and the unofficial U. S. A. Drinking Team was founded.
