View from the excavations of Highgate Tunnel, London lettering Charles Parnell and WH SmithView from the excavations of Highgate Tunnel, London, 1812. A cart can be seen in the middle distance. The scheme was abandoned after the partially completed structure caved in on 15th April 1812. Instead, the Highgate Archway viaduct was built.
