I believe it is quite old and is thick and heavy and super satisfying as an object

I have a hard time not grabbing these old treen darning eggs when I find them

Wooden Swiss cheese Wedge Pen and Pencil Holder round flat basket could not be lovelierI've had a few vintage brass cheese wedges in the shop, but this is the first wooden one I've found, clearly handmade from a scrap chunk of wood, and well worth the effort I'd say. The holes in the top are plentiful but fairly small, keeping pens or pencils sitting high in the holes or also making them great for holding watercolor paintbrushes, say, brush side up. 5 7 8" long x 3 1 2" tall x 2 7 8" deep.
