Constructed of silvered zink, on loop for suspension from an incorrect replacement ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised map of Europe overlaid by a Gebirgsjger service boot, the reverse bearing a raised edelweiss surrounded by an inscription of II. 79 GEB. ART. RGT., above the locations of key campaigns across Europe, measuring 36 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
