Constructed of a silvered bronze alloy with multi coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, around a white enameled disc overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a cogwheel, in turn bearing a HJ insignia, topped by an inscription of GAUSIEGER, flanked by a date of 1938, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker
