I'd guess this color wheel was completed by an art student as part of a color theory class--and just beautifully executed

leaves and vines

and the off-center pattern of what I assume are water lilies turns the whole thing into a waterscape

It features dark brown bands against a mottled tan ground

Best is that it is in fact a bit of a failure there are a couple of splits where the wood of the sides meets the top, with a nail in one corner holding the cage together! (see photos) While it is possible the nail was a later repair, I rather think it was the work of its hard trying original maker, and for me makes this about the most tender and
